The Energy Breakthrough Management Group made the decision Monday (02/08/2021) to cancel the 2021 Maryborough Energy Breakthrough Festival, due to the ongoing health risks of COVID-19 and their impact on public events. The event was due to be held from the 17th to 21st November 2021.
This year marks the 30th celebration of the Energy Breakthrough Festival in Maryborough! We are excited to make the event a special one and, as you will all be aware, a safe one given the current climate. At present, our planning revolves around holding an event that maximises learning, participation and competition within a COVIDsafe framework. Welcome to Term 3. Generally, at this time of the year, schools would be increasing their involvement within the Energy Breakthrough, all in preparation for the annual Energy Breakthrough Festival held in Maryborough in November.
The 2020 Energy Breakthrough event, due to be held in Maryborough from 18 to 22 November, has been canceled.
Leading a team through the Energy Breakthrough can be richly rewarding and demanding – so it can be wonderful to have support from outside of your school to help give advice and extra input. Our Energy Breakthrough Mentor Program promises to offer up to 20 interested schools that support. Team Managers should complete an Expression of Interest form today!
Amid the 2020 global COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Energy Breakthrough entries will open as planned, starting at 8AM this morning (Tuesday).

As part of our post-event evaluation process, we the Energy Breakthrough has not ONE but TWO surveys open right now to capture people's feedback, assess how the year went and help plan for the future. One survey is designed to capture general event and program feedback, whilst the second survey is designed for our volunteers.
