About Katie Harris

Katie Harris first got into human powered vehicles (HPVs) as a student at St Margaret's School in 2007. She finds the competitiveness, atmosphere and uniqueness of the sport is what keeps her coming back event after event. Although, she's been at numerous HPV events her favourite is the RACV Energy Breakthrough. You can often find Katie with a camera or a notepad in her hand taking some top shots and interviewing teams around the HPV track or racing around with St Margaret's and Berwick Grammar Community team. Katie has graduated with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies at Monash University and now teaches kindergarten in Pakenham, Victoria and has been volunteering with the RACV Energy Breakthrough since 2012.

Short and sharp track for the Knox Grand Prix

Bridge Builders Youth Organisation held Round 3 of the 2016 Victorian HPV Series at the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South on Sunday, April 24th. 46 teams for 6 hours rode the short and sharp 800m track in dry conditions and battled it out.

South Australian Pedal Prix season opener heads to Mt Gambier

51 teams from across the state of South Australia and Victoria ventured to the city of Mt Gambier in the state's southeast for the inaugural event; the 2016 season opener of the Australian International Pedal Prix series

Speed demons tackle 1.4km Wonthaggi street circuit

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of March saw Round 2 of Jet Couriers Victorian HPV Series head down to the Bass Coast in Wonthaggi in the ultimate test of endurance. Teams raced against the clock for 24 hours completing laps around the 1.4 kilometre street circuit in all weather conditions in order to collect points for the overall race and series win.

Toothless snags Round 1 win at Casey Fields!

Last Saturday the 27th of February saw 82 teams’ head to Melbourne’s South-eastern suburbs for the first round of the 2016 Jet Couriers Victorian HPV Series held at Casey Fields in Cranbourne. A 6-hour trial saw tight finishes across many of the categories but here are the race winners:

Event Report: Record Breaking Field at Casey Fields

With warm and pleasant conditions, a dark threatening sky setting down on the final round of the 2015 Victorian HPV Series down at Casey Fields with a record-breaking number of 128 teams took to the track; making the event the largest in Victoria on a single track for a HPV race.
