This year, we are seeking out four or more schools to share their Energy Breakthrough journey with us and the broader EB community. Through a series of progress reports published at the end of each term, we’ll be able to find out what the students and teachers have been up to, what’s gone well, what’s not gone so well and what they’re looking forward to in the term ahead.
Hello 2022 and hello Energy Breakthrough community! Here’s some of key updates about the EB program for 2022 across entries, pushcarts, Innovations In Technology; and Display & Presentation. We look forward to seeing you and the students progress through the year!
As part of our post-event evaluation process, we the Energy Breakthrough has not ONE but TWO surveys open right now to capture people's feedback, assess how the year went and help plan for the future. One survey is designed to capture general event and program feedback, whilst the second survey is designed for our volunteers.
It was an electrifying finish between our two 24-hour trial winners, St Margaret’s and Berwick Grammar’s Jupiter and Caulfield Grammar School’s The Big Cheese in the final minutes of the 2019 Energy Breakthrough. By the time the checkered flag came down, 54 seconds was all that separated the record-breaking teams.
This year’s Energy Breakthrough wasn’t just a test of endurance and innovation, with the thousands of students, teachers, event organisers and volunteers being tested by the horrific weather conditions on Thursday. But from Friday we enjoyed near-perfect weather conditions and enjoyed a smooth and successful 29th edition of the Energy Breakthrough!

Well, it was a day of wild weather in Marybrough on Thursday 21 November 2019 - but the teams that were able to make it to Maryborough battled through the wind and heat in good spirits. Thanks to everyone from the students, teachers, support staff, judges, volunteer crews, camping coordinators and medical and emergency services for pulling together to safely get through the day.
