Energy Efficient Electric Vehicle

Better Place and the RACV Energy Breakthrough are offering a limited number of exciting packages for teams to convert their human powered vehicles to electric powered vehicles.

We understand that preparing a energy efficient vehicle for the challenge of a 24 hour trial is not an easy feat.

For some, a barrier to entry is not having access to the right equipment, resources or knowledge to pull it all together.

Other teams are on the human powered vehicle waiting list and may have human powered vehicles ready to go, but no where to race.

So, what’s is the ‘Electric Vehicle Incentive’ package?

There are three “M’”s:

  • Motors
We have connections with a number of small electric motor suppliers who are eager to supply conversion kits and motors at low cost.
  • Mentors
You’ll be put in touch with technical advisors who can offer practical tips on how to prepare your vehicle and team for participating with an electric vehicle on the Holden Track this November.
  • Money
Sponsorship packages of up to $1500 are available to assist your school with conversion costs.

Conditions:

  • The vehicle must be converted to electric-only or electric plus pedal.  No petrol engines will be supported.
  • Vehicles that are converted must run as Energy Efficient Vehicles in the 2012 and 2013 Energy Breakthrough events.
  • The number of packages available is strictly limited.
  • Expressions of Interest will be discussed with team managers prior to approval.
