Here’s an update on camping locations for this year’s Energy Breakthrough – as of 14 November 2022.

Unfortunately, the EB site in Maryborough received 25 mm of additional rain overnight. Maryborough has now received double the monthly average rainfall for November to date, and we are only halfway through the month.

There will be NO camping on the Princes Park, Jubilee Oval and the Track 2 Campsites.

This decision was made following a site inspection and consultation with our stakeholders today and includes a need to protect the local playing fields. The alternative option to the following arrangements would be to cancel the event, which is something we do not wish to do.

Here’s the changes:

1/ PRIMARY – PRINCES PARK to SALVATION ARMY

Primary schools that were to be positioned on Princes Park have been relocated to a new off-site camping area at the Salvation Army Maryborough Corps.

Address: The Salvation Army Maryborough Corps, 27 Wills St, Maryborough VIC 3465

  • This is a short 500 metre walk or bus trip to the event site.
  • There will be toilets and showers available.
  • Schools are still encouraged to bring their tents and camping equipment to use in this area.
  • The grounds are still wet, so please bring tarps, shade cloth, carpet or weed matt to place underneath tents.
  • POWER at SALVATION ARMY
Generators will be permitted at the Salvation Army site.
Please see the ‘safe use of generators’ sheet from Energy Safe Victoria.
Please note we may enforce a night time noise restriction on these in consideration of all campers and other residents.
  • Please follow the route to Gate 1 on the site access map.

2/ SECONDARY – JUBILEE TO EB CENTRAL

Secondary schools that were to be positioned on Jubilee Oval have been relocated to a new camping area in EB Central.
This is marked on the new maps reference ‘E3’. As a result, we will relocate the Expo and Design & Construction.

  • Schools are still encouraged to bring their tents and camping equipment to use in this area.
  • Power will be available in this area.
  • The grounds are still wet, so please bring tarps, shade cloth, carpet or weed matt to place underneath tents.
  • Please enter via Gate 4 the site access map and turn left onto Christian Street.

3/ TRYATHLON / PRIMARY – TRACK 2 CAMPSITE to MARYBOROUGH CARAVAN PARK

TRYathlon and Primary schools that were to be positioned on the Track 2 Campsite have been relocated to the Maryborough Caravan Park and surrounding area.

  • Schools in the caravan park will need to bring leads suitable for 15AMP power outlets.
  • Please proceed to the caravan park and they will advise you of your campsite number upon arrival.
  • Please enter via Gate 5 on the site access map.
