In a shock announcement, defending Hybrid trial winners, Damascus College, have pulled all three of their teams out of this yearÕs RACV Energy Breakthrough.

Citing an incredible work load of preparing the vehicles for the Maryborough event and their ‘Outback Rode Rage’ challenge, Team Manager Tony Davidson was disappointed they were forced to choose between two great opportunities:

“Some of our adult helpers aren’t able to stretch across both events and since we’ve made commitments to many of our sponsors about the Rode Rage event, we felt that we had to fulfill those obligations. We sincerely hope that we will be able to return to Maryborough in 2010 in some capacity and will keep you informed.”

The team is riding from Darwin to Melbourne in the week after the Energy Breakthrough to raise awareness and funds for World Vision and the Alternative Technology Association. They recently got their new vehicle on the road, read more about it.
