2013 entries to open on Wednesday, March 6

The wait is nearly over!
Entries for the 2013 RACV Energy Breakthrough will open at 9am, Eastern Daylight Savings Time on Wednesday, 6 March, 2013.

After the great success of last year’s program, we are truly hoping that the 23rd edition will be even better. But of course to do that, we need YOU – students and teachers from across Victoria and beyond – to enter and take up the challenge.

We’re also looking to offer our Holden Mentor Program and the Motors, Mentors & Money: the Electric Vehicle Incentive packages again for participating schools. (Just as a little bonus).

2013 Entry Fees

Innovations in Technology entries – $25 per team (Up to a maximum of $100 for 5 or more teams)
Pushcart entries – $230 per team
Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) entries – $380 per team
Try-athlon entries – $380 per team
Energy Efficient Vehicles & Hybrid entries – $380 per team
Handbook, Rules & Regulations: coming soon

We’re just putting the finishing touches on this year’s School’s Handbook, which will include all of the information on the categories, rules, regulations and activities. We can at least tell you there haven’t been any wholesale changes this year.
We anticipate this will be available for download prior to Entries opening.

Existing Account Holders

Team managers who used the system in 2012 will be able to log-in with their existing accounts. This retains all of the contact details and team details from previous years.

Existing team managers should not create a new account – you will be emailed your existing username prior to entries opening. You can also request your password at anytime using the ‘Forgotten Password’ link.

All existing Team Managers are encouraged to double-check and ensure your contact details are correct or updated if required from your 2012 entries.

Please note that if you log-in now there is no event for anyone to enter until entries open.

New Accounts
New team managers – or Team Managers who don’t have an existing account – can create their online account at any time before or after entries open. (Even right now if you really want too). This will allow you to enter in your school and contact details.

Nigel Preston is a self-confessed 'HPV Tragic'. After 'catching the bug' from his older brother, he helped launch the Energy Breakthrough program at Eaglehawk SC with his dad and some mates way back in 1998. Having participated in the EB for four years he finished his VCE in 2001 and volunteering to help with the event management straight away. He's been helping out ever since. Nigel has also been a part of teams that have taken line honours at the EB in 2000 & 2001 (Bendigo Senior SC); the Australian International Pedal Prix 2003, 2004 & 2009 (Bendigo Youth Racing); and the Wonthaggi Human Powered Grand Prix in 2019.

Hello EBT team,
Just a quick email in regards to our log in status. We/I had all sorts of problems last year. I have no idea what our pass word is/was. I have down loaded the steps of how to apply etc. Can you please email our pass word if possible so that we can at least start fresh.We will only use one computer and one contact number.
Our school is East Loddon p-12

Hi EBT team,

Looking forward to another fantastic event. In 2012 I registered for Seymour College but the format needed some tweeking to account for our P-12 college entries. As I organise and run the Primary hpv entries are we able to have a second registration that caters for the secondary entries? Have there been any changes to accomodate schools such as ours?

  Hi Peter,
  Thanks for your comment, we’ve made a few updates to the system and you have a couple of options, but it depends on whether you’re looking for a/ two separate invoices to two separate addresses – OR – b/ two managers who have access to the same organisation?
  
  If it’s option a, then you can get someone else at the other campus to set-up an additional organisation for say, Seymour College – Secondary. We don’t really recommend this though.
  
  If it’s option b, then you can add a password to your account so that other users can access it. (instructions are in our step-by-step guide on that). We recommend this – though you will still have to tell your colleague the password to the organisation.
  
  Or you could simply talk to your colleague at the other campus, find out what they want to enter and one of you manage the entries on your behalf and share one user log-in. Given that you don’t typically enter ‘high demand’ categories, this could be an option for you.
