Super Saturday – Catch Up on All Things Pushcarts and HPV A Related!

How Did Your Team Place? We Talk All Things Pushcart, HPV A’s,  & Presentations

Our Primary School HPV teams were back down on the VicRoads Track nice and early this morning for the restart of their 14 hour trial after being on compulsory breaks overnight.  The day also kicked off nice and early for our Pushcart teams who took part in their Sprints down on the front straight of Track 1.

Pushcarts – Racing to Finish

This morning our eager Pushcart teams were on-site bright and early to finish off the last leg of their events with the Sprint events taking place on the front straight down on Track 1 and what a sense of accomplishment you could feel from these teams.

From all of us we want to say a massive congratulations to every student who has participated in the Pushcart events. You have all displayed an incredible sense of teamwork throughout your 2018 Energy Breakthrough journey.

But it was St Catherine’s Primary School “St Catherine’s Team 1” who took out the Overall Winner for their category Pushcarts Section 2, followed by their other entry, “St Catherine’s Team 2“.

And for the first time since entering a Pushcart into Section 1 – Avoca Primary School’s cart “Avoca Bolt” were crowned the Overall Winner.

All Good Things Must Come to and End…….Until This Time Next Year

There is no denying that our HPV A teams have had to give it their all the weekend, but not even the wet, wild weather could dampen the spirits as each of our teams pushed themselves to their limits in the lead up to 12pm.

And with only 1 lap separating first and second position – intensity was high! Through the entire race, White Hills Primary School “EcoRush” and Maryborough Education Centre’s “Meclicious” going lap for lap for most of the race.

But it was White Hills Primary School in “EcoRush” who took line honors finishing on 368 laps (408km) who just managed to sneak across the line one lap ahead of “Meclicious” who finished the race on 367 laps (407km).

For White Hills Primary School “EcoRush” it was a back-to-back win!

Maryborough Education Centre’s team, ‘Meclicious” may have finished the 14-hour trial in 2nd position for the HPVA 2 category, but their combined total scores for their incredible effort in Display & Presentation, Design & Construction combined with their Trial was enough to see them take victory with the Overall HPVA 2 category win!

Lloyd Street Primary School were victorious taking out 2nd place.

And to continue with their exceptional performance this weekend, Avoca Primary School’s ‘Pyrenees Platinum’ took out ALL their categories – Display & Presentation, Design & Construction and Trial of 341 laps (378km) to secure them as overall Winners for the HPV A category.

We Are the Champions……..

Presentations kicked off at 3.30pm with winner from the Puscharts, HPV A and Innovations in Technology all announced. To check out the list of winners, take a look here.
