The RACV Energy Breakthrough has been named for the second year in a row, the Best Festival or Event at this year’s Victorian Tourism Awards held in Melbourne on Monday night.

The Awards submission was again led by the Central Goldfields Shire Council team, Martin Mark and Alisha Chadwick, with input from the events executive team and event partners.

Martin Mark, Local Planning Coordinator for the event and also Recreation Manager for the Central Goldfields Shire Council, was delighted and honoured to have won the coveted award for the second consecutive year:

The RACV’s Ernest Litera reflected on the enthusiasm brought to the event each year.

“Every year RACV Energy Breakthrough has been embraced with great enthusiasm by everyone involved – from the students and teachers right through to the visiting spectators and the Maryborough community – and every year RACV and our organising partners aim to make the RACV Energy Breakthrough the best ever.” Mr Litera said.

This success has been possible thanks to the hard work by scores of volunteers; our partners at Central Goldfields Shire, the RACV and the Country Education Project. We would also like to thank our principal sponsors at Holden, VicRoads and the Victorian Education Department.

With just 21 days until this years Breakthrough and with over 350 teams, we are set to make this another award winning event!
