About Taegan Westin

Taegan got her first taste of the Energy Breakthrough when she assisted in the organisation of the Energy Expo component back in 2001. During her high school days she worked in the Promotions & Marketing Department at the Central Goldfields Shire and has been involved with the creation and execution of social media and website content for the Energy Breakthrough since 2016. Taegan is a skilled social media manager who has experience with some of Australia’s biggest businesses and brands. In 2018, Taegan has launched her own digital marketing business.

David Somers brings Dan Riccardo’s ‘shoey’ celebration to Maryborough

Over the past 27 years, we've seen many different way teams celebrate the achievements and milestones they reach at the Energy Breakthrough on Sunday afternoon. And 2017 was no different! After NINE years of participation, Year 12 student David Somers decided to celebrate his final stint at Maryborough Dan Riccardo-style: with a water-filled 'shoey'!

For The Love of Lilly – Yarrawonga College P-12

For this year’s Yarrawonga College teams, being a part of the 2017 RACV Energy Breakthrough is all that little more special. They are racing in loving memory of their friend Lilly Toms. Lilly was a Yarrawonga College P-12 student who was diagnosed with B-cell Leukemia in late 2016 and sadly passed away in August this year.

Day 3  – Did You Place? Pushcarts, HPV’s & Presentations

Our HPV teams were back on the CFA Track for the restart of the 14 hour trial after a compulsory break overnight at 6am ... and our Pushcart teams took to the RACV Track to sprint out the final element of their assessment.

Day 1 – Registrations, Wristbands & Assessments

First day of the 2017 RACV Energy Breakthrough kicked off in true fashion - team registrations and wristbands! Once we got the formalities out of the way, it was time to get down to business: Display & Presentation, Design & Construction, Scrutineering and the HPV Primary Practice Session.
