About Laurie Preston

Laurie’s first experience of the EB was in 1995 when his eldest son was an HPV rider. With his youngest son, Nigel, he introduced the EB to students at Eaglehawk Secondary College in 1998 and was a Team Manager for the school's teams until 2003, overseeing both HPV and Hybrid teams. Since 2006, he has coordinated the Display and Presentation section, and the Innovations in Technology section since 2008. Laurie enjoyed teaching maths and science in many country secondary schools.

The Energy Breakthrough is not just about HPVs. On Saturday morning near the Display and Presentation Marquees, there is the Central Highland Water sponsored Innovations in Technology – Crafty Design and Junkyard Challenge. It is a buzz of activity.
